EXHIBITORS' LIST

Il Circolo’s Bazaar is an authentic Christmas fair which gives the London public wonderful exposure to a huge range of Italian products and some international goods all of the highest quality and refinement. The Bazaar is a truly enjoyable and elegant event which takes place in the historic Chelsea Old Town Hall in the King’s Road, in the heart of London. This year, exhibitors had the chance to show their quality artisanal and gastronomic products during the day and a half of the Bazaar.

On Tuesday 1 December the opening cocktail reception from 18.30 to 21.30 (ticket only) gave our male clients the opportunity to accompany their female partners in tasting many of the very select products including olive oil and wonderful wines as well as the chance to make their Christmas purchases together. The second day, Wednesday 2 December from 10.00 to 20.00, the Bazar opened to the public. Traditionally this event is inaugurated by the wife of the Italian Ambassador in London.

Il Circolo Music Prize
At the Italian Cultural Institute

The first Il Circolo Music Prize in 2008, in conjunction with Trinity College of Music and the Italian Cultural Institute, was a Scarlatti sonata competition. This year, competitors were asked to include in their programme one Italian work composed after 1950 so the audience was treated to works by Berio and Simone Spagnolo - a young Italian composer studying at Trinity College of Music - as well as Frescoabldi, Scarlatti and Busoni.

The two Italian adjudicators, on an exchange visit to the College from Bologna, awarded the first prize of £350 to Sam Liu, the second prize of £250 went to Mikako Sugamara, the third prize of £150 to Kristin Sofroniou and fourth prize to Annie Ball with a cheque for £75. Il Circolo was very pleased to be able to award prizes to all four finalists who joined the audience at a reception after their performances. We thank them, the Trinity College of Music and the Italian Cultural Institute for contributing to a splendid evening of music.
