There was also music in the background. COOKING LESSONS AND TABLE DECORATION Thursday 31st January from 10.30 am to 2.30 pm at Lidia Pontecorvo's Our cooking course with Viviana Romanori who prepared a typical winter menu and Loredana Carcascio pleased our sight with a table decoration inspired at the same theme. Lidia kindly hosted the event. CONFERENCE BY SAMUEL PEGG Tuesday 7th February from 5 pm to 7 pm at Etta Carnelli's Samuel Pegg, One of Il Circolo's scholars in June 2010 , Master of Music Composition student at the Royal College of Music talked about his career as music composer for the screen and how this differs from composing music for a concert. Among his other works, Samuel recently composed music for Star Trek andwas commissioned to write some music for the Headington Singers and Isis Orchestra that will be performed in the All Saints Church in Oxford. He has also been appointed finalist for “The European Talent Award” based on a Soundtrack Cologne80 that took place in November. ALBERTO BURRI AT THE ESTORICK COLLECTION Thursday, 1st March at 11.30 am Estorick Collection of Modern Art 39a Canonbury Square London N1 2AN We organised a guided visit to this interesting exhibition . The guide was the curator of the exhibition himself. ALZHEIMER, PARKINSON AND FRONTOTEMPORAL DEMENTIA: A COMMON MECHANISM INVOLVING DIFFERENT PROTEINS Monday 5th March from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm at Lidia Pontecorvo's Donation: £15 Professor Maria Grazia Spillantini from Department of Neurosciences, Clinical School, Cambridge University talked about ther research project on neurodegenerative diseases. SOMERVILLE COLLEGE OXFORD MODERN LANGUAGES CELEBRATION Sunday, 11 March 2012 from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm For the first time, we have been invited by Somerville College, that we have been supporting for many years, to join this interesting celebration. Details have been sent to members and a small group from Il Circolo will go to Oxford to represent our association. IL CIRCOLO BOOK CLUB Thursday 15th March from 10am to 12pm at Laura Stock's Donation: £10 It's our first meeting to organise a book club. All participants brought a book they love then at random, each book was given to another reader who will have to return it with a brief commentary at the following meeting. The group chose a book to discuss next. AN EVENING OF ITALIAN CINEMA AT PATRIZIA'S Tuesday 20th March at 8.00 pm at Patrizia Capanna's A new group started to watch and discuss some Italian movies. The first movie will be Mine Vaganti by Ozbetek. ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING Italian Cultural Institute 23rd April from 10am to 1pm
